Mooli chi Koshimbir – Maharashtrian style Radish Salad

Koshimbir in Marathi means salad. This is a quick salad with a simple dressing of lemon juice and salt which is very common.

Indians do not tend to go for elaborate dressings that include oil. The flavours come from the chilli and the coriander.

Ingredients:

150g radishes, topped and tailed and washed
1 small onion, finely chopped
½ tsp salt
1 green chilli, finely chopped
2 tomatoes, finely chopped
2 tsp lemon juice
25g coriander leaves, washed and chopped

   
Method:  

Grate the radishes and mix with the rest of the ingredients. Serve as a fresh side relish with any fish curry. Especially the Marathi Salmon Curry.
